How To Help

Help us keep the spirit of this amazing family alive by donating HERE

The Petit Family Foundation honors the memories of Jennifer Hawke-Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit, and Michaela Rose Petit by continuing the kindness, idealism and activism that defined their lives. The Foundation's funds are given to foster the education of young people, especially women in the sciences; to improve the lives of those affected by chronic illnesses, and to support efforts to protect and help those affected by violence. Hayley, and later on Michaela, were dedicated to community service and charitable giving, especially with the MS Society in support of their mother's illness.

Recent grants and foundation funds have been used to support the following:

The Prudence Crandall Center (New Britain, CT) which offer comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence.

The Annual Petit Women “Be the Change” Community Service Awards which recognize students at Plainville (CT) High School in grades 9-12, in good academic standing, who show a dedication to community service.

Academic Scholarships to National Honor Society students through the Plainville Rotary Club

The Jennifer Hawke-Petit Scholarship Award is given in loving memory of Jen, beloved nurse, educator, and friend to all at Cheshire Academy. This honor is given to a senior who embodies the admirable personal characteristics which Jen exemplified; kindness, integrity, compassion, and idealism. This student understands and demonstrates the value and importance of community service, and is a good friend to her fellow students.

Dr. Petit started his family’s charity as a means to continue on the work and spirit of his lovely family. He is now building upon the motion that his young girls started. His youngest daughter, Michaela, was fond of the Mahatma Gandhi phrase, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” We ask that you consider making a donation to this cause, help be the change. Not only will you strengthen the future of countless young students, you will also help keep the spirit of his three girls alive.
